Hello there,

This looks like a fun itinerary! Nikko is one of my favourite trips from Tokyo and well worth visiting.

In terms of a JR Pass, I think that it would be worth it, to consider a JR Kanto Pass. As it both covers travel to Nikko and Fuji Kawaguchiko. A nationwide JR Pass would be useful if you traveled nationwide, to places such as Kyoto/Osaka.

As for Dec 12, there are a couple of possible options. One would be to visit Yokohama from Tokyo, or you could go to Kamakura and visit the Big Buddha.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
