Do I need a JR Pass for a Tokyo-Osaka Itinerary?

Hello there!

We are planning to visit Japan during the Sakura Season and are looking at spending 4 nights in Tokyo and 4 Nights in Osaka.

Basically, we will be arriving in Tokyo and will see tourist attractions within the city during this 4 nights and then travel to Osaka and see the wonders in the remaining 4 days of our trip. We want to experience riding in a bullet train and hoping to see Fuji along the way.

Can you please advise if it is practical for us to get JR Passes? We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

I look forward to your response.

Hi there,

Sorry for the late reply - the forum has been way more busy than usual and this is a one man show after all :)

To answer your question what pass works best, could you tell me what you'd do after Osaka. Will you be flying out of there or taking the train back to Tokyo? This makes quite a difference.

Kind regards,
Daniel
