Hi! I just got the 7 Day JR Pass. We will be in Kanazawa for 4 days and 3 nights. Would like to get recommendations on a worthwhile day trip from Kanazawa using the JR Pass.
Shirakawago is on our itinerary. I'd like to know best or shortest way to get there? Via Kanazawa or via Takayama? Coz we will be also staying in Takayama for 3 nights after visiting Kanazawa.

Hello there,
You can use the Nohi bus directly from Kanazawa station to Shirakwago-go, unfortunately travel to Shirakawa-go is not included in the JR Pass.
As for other day trips, you could visit Kaga Onsen, Fufui and the local dinosaur museum and don't forget everything Kanazawa itself has to offer, such as the local Geisha quarters, Kanzawa castle and Kenroku-en Garden.
