Hi, we are a group of 8 and it'll be our first time in Japan.
What's the best way to travel from Tokyo to Osaka besides the bullet train?
We find the bullet train too expensive considering that we are a big group. Is there a cheaper way that won't compromise the convenience?

Will appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Thanks

Hi there,

Frankly there's nothing as convenient as the bullet trains. You just get on in Tokyo and a little over two hours later you step out in Osaka.

Alternatives are flying or taking a night bus. You'll spend at least two hours alone traveling to and from the airports and then there are check-in, security procedures and much more. That said, you may be able to save some money if you plan with a low cost airline, given that you book far enough in advance.

I guess you could also look at hiring a fan or two cars and travel that way but it still is not near as efficient as the bullet train.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
