Hi!
We are going to travel to Japan in June . We plan to stay in Tokyo 2 days and maybe to Kyoto or surrounding. We have 5days in Japan and are not sure if the JR pass is the best solution for us. Can you give us some advice or surgestions for the travel tips? We have been to Tokyo, Hakone, Itö and Fuji Mountain area before. Best regards/ Mina
5 days in Japan. Is JR pass a good idea?
Hi Mina,
A 7-day Japan Rail Pass is worth considering when used to make a return trip Tokyo - Kyoto. The cost of the pass is similar as the price of a return ticket and after that, any addition is basically where you start making savings. Just taking the Narita Express for instance is enough.
There are many stops you could consider, if you go to Kyoto, then Nara, Osaka, Wakayama or Kobe are all great stops, you could even do a day trip to Hiroshima.
From Tokyo, I'd recommend Nokogiriyama or Kamakura.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
