First time in Japan and I need to know if it is best to buy a JR pass or not. Below is my itinerary. Please help:) Thank you!
April 16 Fly into Osaka and stay in Osaka
April 17 Osaka
April 18 Travel to Kyoto
April 19 Kyoto
April 20 Kyoto
April 21 Kyoto
April 22 Travel to Mt. Fuji
April 23 Travel to Tokyo
April 24 Tokyo
April 25 Tokyo
April 26 Day trip to Kamakura and back to Tokyo
April 27 Tokyo
April 28 Tokyo
April 29 Tokyo
April 30 Fly out of Narita
Hi there,
Looking at your itinerary, I would stick to buying normal tickets. The JR Pass works great for longer intercity trips and a return Tokyo - Kyoto for instance is a good route to use the JR Pass on.
You'll be travelling one way and also have a couple of regional side trips, these however cost less than the price of a 7 day JR Pass.
